The Alfred State Wrestling team won today's match against Elmira 40-6. The Pioneers had nine wrestlers in the lineup for today's match five of them had a no contest. Two Pioneer wrestlers won their individual bouts.
Sean Peterson (Islip, NY / Islip) defeated Selvin Maldonado by decision, winning 8-5 and tacking on three points for Alfred State.
Sean Malenfant (Averill Park, NY / Averill Park) won by pinfall at the 1:15 mark of the bout against Bryan Stafford to put the Pioneers ahead 33-3.
Evan Albrecht (Patchogue, NY / Patchogue-Medford) lost his match against Chris Powell by decision and Cale Bartosch (Palmyra, NY / Palmyra Macedon) fell to Hollis Berry in the 174-pound match.
Ben Lloyd (Alfred, NY / Alfred-Almond) was listed at 141 in today's match lineup. But after an Elmira forfeit, he won his 149-pound exhibition match against Selvin Maldonado by decision 7-5. Tyler Pelech (Ridge, NY / Longwood) won his exhibition match against Bryan Stafford by pinfall.
The Pioneers head to Scranton, Pennsylvania on Sunday, November 13 for the Electric City Duals.
