PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The St. John Fisher University athletic department and the wrestling program have solidified the 2022-23 schedule. The program was reintroduced in 2021 and after the completion of the Joseph Pellicano Wrestling Pavilion; the Cardinals are ready to go for their first season since 1983.
On The Road Early: Fisher will begin their season with four straight road contests starting with the Lycoming Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 6. The following week, they will travel to Ursinus College for the Racich Rumble. On Nov. 18, Oswego State will host the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Tournament starting at 9 a.m. They finish the early road trip with the RIT Invitational on Dec. 3.
Home Sweet Home: The Cardinals will host the first home wrestling match on Saturday, Jan. 7 as Elmira College will come to town. The bout is slated to begin at 2 p.m. The only other home contest set for the season is against Jamestown Community College on Thursday, Feb. 9 and the time for that dual is to be determined.
Away From Fisher: A majority of the schedule is away from home and consists of a variety of events. On Jan. 14, the Cardinals had to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for a quad meet that will begin at 1 p.m. The following week they go to Case Western Reserve University for the Dr. Si Ostrach Duals. The regular season will end on Feb. 18 with a Mideast Futures Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College.
