Amherst juniors Brandon Simonson and Calik Kennedy capped off impressive seasons with fourth-place finishes at 152 pounds and 285 pounds at the Section VI Division I State Qualifier Saturday at North Tonawanda High School.

Simonson beat Seth MacTavish of Jamestown, 7-3, and lost by pin in 1:12 to Steven Kapuscinski of Lockport in the semifinals.

Simonson wrestled back and doubled up Mike Ziegler of Niagara Wheatfield, 8-4, and lost to Logan Kent of North Tonawanda, 8-3, in the third-place match.
