Ceder Rapids, IA- The Alfred State men's wrestling season comes to a close at the NCAA National Championship.
Sean Malenfant was the lone Pioneer to reach the NCAA Tournament this season after winning taking home the NCAA 184 Regional Title a few weekends ago.
Malenfant won his first match of the day against Remington Bauer (Baldwin Wallace) in a 1:28 fall. He suffered his first loss of the day by way of major decision to Robert Flege (Wis. La Crosse) 15-4. Then in his next match, Malenfant loss a hard fought bout against Jamie Evarts (Williams), in a 8-4 decision.
Sean will be honored tomorrow at the awards ceremony for tallying the most falls in NCAA DIII this season.
