Malefant, Slovick Headline Men's Wrestling All-Conference Team

Alfred State College senior Sean Malenfant and Pitt-Bradford senior D.J. Slovick have been named AMCC Co-Wrestlers of the Year.

Malenfant was a dominate force in the Pioneers lineup all season, as he held a 44-5 record and led the NCAA in Falls victories with 37 on the year. Malenfant is the winningest wrestler in Pioneer history as he surpassed the 133 career victory mark, while also tallying 90 career wins by fall.

Slovick was also dominant in his final collegiate season, posting a 25-7 record overall, with 16 pins, one tech fall and two major decisions. He was near perfect in dual matches, posting a 16-1 record, pinning 11 opponents while also adding one major decision and one tech fall. Slovick is the winningest wrestler in UPB program history and became the first Panther to surpass 100 career wins this January. He was the focal point and leader forthe Panthers as the team also set a program record with nine dual match victories.

Penn State Behrend freshman Mason Savitz has been tabbed as the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Savitz finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the NWCA Region 2. He won the W&J Invitational and the RIT Invitational at 165. Savitz only registered one loss at 165, a regionally-ranked opponent at No. 1. He finished with an overall record of 22-4, including 10 pins, four major decisions and two technical falls.

Coach of the Year honors goes to Pennsylvania College of Technology head coach Dalton Rohrbaugh. Rohrbaugh earns his first Coach of the Year nod after leading the Wildcats to their second consectutive conference title.
