Brockport State Posts Dominating Win, Blanks Elmira on the Road

Brockport, NY – The wrestling team traveled to St. John Fisher to face the Elmira Soaring Eagles for the Empire 8 Conference Championships and walked away with a dominate 60-0 victory on Saturday, January 10th. The Golden Eagles improved to 1-1 in dual competition.

At 141, Daniel O'Dea started the day strong with a win by fall just 2:22 into the matchup.

Spencer Maja followed suit in the 149lb division, also clinching the win by fall 2:25 into the competition.

Adding another win for the Golden Eagles was Mason Mangialino at 157 with a fall 2:27 in the match.

Kiam Coleman had a day in the 174 bout, securing a quick win by fall just 42 seconds into competition.

Finishing out the day with a win by fall in just 56 seconds was Mike Welsh in the 285lb division.

Multiple Golden Eagles also earned points for the team with forfeit victories including Cael Stewart, Kolton Kelley, Max Morrison, Avery Bustamante, and Gavin McLaughlin.

Next Weekend – The Green and Gold are set to host Niagara County Community College on Saturday, January 17th for the first home dual of the season at 12pm.
