Quantity achieved: STWOA enhances quality for ‘25

NEWS

In 2023, upon inheriting the organizational reins, Tyler Taylor had a vision: To restore the prestige that the Southern Tier Wrestling Officials Association (STWOA) Tournament had once possessed.

Just two years later, that vision has undoubtedly come to fruition … and then some.

By last year, Taylor and his committee had grown the tournament from eight teams in 2022, when it had returned as a shell of itself following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 27 squads to 29 last winter — a number that wound up dipping slightly because of a snow storm the same weekend.

Another year on, they’ve only expanded the event even further.
