LCAA’s FINEST
JAMESTOWN – Letchworth’s Joe Scott captured the 138-pound title at the prestigious 38th Annual STWOA Holiday Wrestling Classic at Jamestown Community College.
Scott was outstanding throughout all of his matches, which culminated with his 10-2 major decision over Ethan Springer (Sharpsville) in the finals.
Scott’s weight class was the largest of the tournament.
Incredibly, he finished 5-0 with four straight technical falls to reach the title match.
As a team, Letchworth finished 10th out of 36 teams overall. They competed with Division I, Pennsylvania, Private, and a combination of the best teams from all around NYS.
Also, Gunner Kemp finished 5th, Nolan Kelly and Braiden Schroeder finished 6th, and Denison Johnson finished 7th! Dylan Smith and Justin Mann also wrestled well and added many points to the team's total.
Dansville’s Wyatt Sartori also won his 118-pound weight class.
Sartori defeated Tanner Catrabone (St. Francis) 3-2 in his title match.
