Rochester, NY – On Saturday morning the Lakers hit the road to Rochester NY to take on the RIT Invitational.

How It Happened

Avery Canzano started his day with back to back wins over St John Fisher and Trinity. After suffering a loss to Williams, Canzano rallied back with three wins over Lycoming, Wesleyan and RIT to take home 4th place overall at 184lbs.

Michael Santore opened with three wins in a row over Oneonta, Williams, and John Carroll. He was defeated by Wesleyan but rallied to earn another win over Williams and finish 4th overall for the Lakers at 141 lbs.

Some other standouts for the Lakers were Anthony Avitable who earned two wins over Norwich and Lycoming at 157lbs. Christopher Coleman who wrestled at 174lbs and earned wins over RIT and Wesleyan. Donovan Rail was in action at 149lbs and took down Lycoming and Jon Carroll. At 174lbs, Jayden Kiell earned back-to-back wins over Wesleyan and Utica. He then went on to earn another win over Penn State Behrend. Freshman Juan Roque opened once again with two wins over Penn State Behrend and Oneonta. He Later also earned a win over St John Fisher. Finally, at 157lbs, Steven Ventricelli took down his opponent from Norwich and then went on to earn two victories over Oneonta.

What's Next

The Lakers will return home for their home opener on Sunday December 14th when they host Ithaca and Lycoming College.
