Bulls Top Bloomsburg in MAC Opener, 21-14

BLOOMSBURG, PA – The University at Buffalo wrestling team traveled to Bloomsburg on Friday night and defeated the Huskies, 21-14, in their opener to the Mid-American Conference dual season.

After dropping the first match of the night, the Bulls won the next three to set the tone. Max Elton earned a 4-3 decision over Kade Kluce at 133 to get the Bulls going.

Tyler Roark got a reversal and a four-point nearfall in the third period to turn a scoreless match into a 6-0 decision.

Sam Ewing got the first bonus points for the Bulls with a first-period pin of Dustin Elliott at 149.

After Max Nevlin dropped a close decision at 157, Kelin Laffey got the Bulls back on track with a 1-0 decision over BraidonWoodward to put UB ahead, 15-6.

Marcus Petite and Connor Jacobs helped close out the win for the Bulls with wins at 184 and 197, respectively. Petite got a third-period takedown to win a 4-2 decision over Ethan Ducca. Jacobs fought off CoyRaines to earn a 2-0 decision.

The Bulls are back in action on December 13 when they host Gardner-Webb and Kent State at Alumni Arena.
