After a heartbreaking knee injury in 2023 after Joye competed at Final X and made the U.S. national team, Joye had surgery to repair a torn meniscus, torn ACL and torn MCL.

After two years off the mat and only being cleared four months ago, she returned to competition last weekend at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas and took 3rd place.
