Binghamton Adds Sheridan Tournament to Schedule

Bearcats will compete at Lehigh University's tournament on Dec. 22

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling team has announced that it will now be competing at the Sheridan Tournament on Friday, Dec. 22 in Lehigh, Pa.

This is the first time the tournament is being held since December of 1999. Also competing at this year's event are wrestlers from Army, Brown, Central Michigan, Cornell, Franklin & Marshall, Indiana and Rutgers.

The Bearcats will wrestle at this event in addition to competing at the Wilkes Open on the same day in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Binghamton will have wrestlers at both events competing attached.

This will be the final two times the Bearcats will compete on the mat in 2023. The last time Binghamton competed was at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Wrestling Invitational from Dec. 1-2. The Bearcats finished 19th out of 35 teams at the highly-competitive event. Two Bearcat wrestlers finished on the podium, with Cory Day finishing seventh at 285 lbs., and Brevin Cassella finishing eighth at 165 lbs.

The Wilkes Open will begin at 9:30 a.m., at the Marts Center, while the Sheridan Tournament starts at 10 a.m., at Stabler Arena.
