Elmira Women's Wrestling Secures Three Top-Five Finishes at 2023 ESU Open

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. - The Elmira College women's wrestling program brought home an eighth-place finish at the 2023 ESU Open on Sunday afternoon as the Soaring Eagles had three wrestlers record a top-five finish.

Entering her first tournament of the season ranked No. 7 nationally at 155 pounds for the Soaring Eagles, Skylah Chakouian '25 would notch a third-place finish. Chakouian would face East Stroudsburg's Paityn Delong for the second time this week and record a 12-1 tech fall victory in the third-place bout.

Chakouian finished the day with four total victories and three pins for the Purple & Gold.
Gabby Bradigan '26 would drop a hard-fought bout for the Soaring Eagles in the third-place match at 130 pounds against Hannah Lawrence from Wyoming Seminary via a 4-2 decision.

Bradigan advanced to the semifinals after opening the day with a pair of victories via fall before dropping her semifinal bout.

Zoey Lints '27 recorded three consecutive victories on her way to a fifth-place finish for the Purple & Gold wrestling at 143 pounds. Lints would pin Maura White from York College at the 1:01 mark to secure her first podium finish.

Lints battled through the consolation bracket and notched victories over Elmira teammate Ella Bode '27 and Kallah Zacherl from Gannon University to advance to the fifth-place bout.

Elmira would also receive multiple victories on the day from Britain Chew '27 (116 pounds), Megan Edwards '27 (123 pounds), Hailey Berry '27 (130 pounds), and Bode (143 pounds).

Kaitlyn Potter '26 (109 pounds), Sam Lamorte '27 (123 pounds), Leslie Monterrosa '24 (143 pounds), and Tess Clabaugh '27 also recorded a win on the day for the Purple & Gold.
