BROCKPORT, NY - The College at Brockport wrestling team dominated the Brockport Duals at the Special Events Recreation Center on Saturday as the Golden Eagles hosted Pitt-Bradford and Alfred State. Brockport topped Pitt-Bradford 53-0 and also came away with a 48-0 win over Alfred State.
Elijah Sims went 2-0 on the afternoon as he earned a 10-6 decision against Elijah Hernandez in the 141 pound weight class to kick things off for the Golden Eagles. Sims then added a 10-0 major decision win over Alfred's Owen Kissell in his second match of the day.
Zack Brown picked up a 2-1 decision victory over Alfred's Anthony Miraglia at 149, while Reese Lockwood added a 9-2 decision win over Alfred's Cale Bartosch at 157.
Matthew Kline won both his matches on the day for Brockport. Kline topped Pitt-Bradford's Nate Powley 7-4 to start the day at 165. He added a pin in his second match of the day as he topped Alfred's Loujerry Etienne in just 1:03.
Chris Eames took home a victory by way of a 10-1 major decision against Alfred's Blake Ilges at 174. Joe Yanis posted two wins in the 184 pound weight class. He defeated Pitt-Bradford's Derek Ridgeway via fall at 1:29 and then came back with another pin in just :25 against Alfred's Alijah Carter.
Devon Shader also added two convincing wins for Brockport. He posted a 20-4 technical fall victory over Pitt-Bradford's Jason Reyes and then Shader came back with a pin over Alfred's Harry Nice in 1:40 to finish the day in the 197 pound weight class.
Heavyweight Richard Knapp posted two more victories to reach 20 for the season for Brockport. He pinned Pitt-Bradford's Mitch Dowd in 2:06 and then added a major decision win over Alfred's Jacob DeWall, 16-6.
Brockport returns to action next Saturday when the Golden Eagles travel to Oneonta for the Eastern Collegiate Wrestling Conference Championships at 10 a.m.
