Brockport Travels For Thunderwolves Open

NEWS

SANBORN, N.Y.—The College at Brockport wrestling team sent some of their athletes to Niagara County Community College to compete in the Thunderwolves Open on Saturday. Two wrestlers in particular stood out for the Green and Gold as they secured a first-place and third-place finish.

Austin Reed worked his way to a 3-0 afternoon in the 149-weight class to take the top spot. His first match ended at 3:33 with a fall, before once again pinning his opponent in his second bout, this time at 4:09. Reed dominated his final matchup, securing a 16-3 major decision over his opponent.

Danny Emblidge earned a third place finish on the day going 4-1. His first matchup ended in disappointing fashion, but he proceeded to grind as he came out on top in his next four bouts. His first win came in a fall at 2:04, before securing an 11-0 major decision. His final two matches ended due to injury concerns for the opposition, so Emblidge was able to secure third place.
