In the final week of 2017, 14 St. Joe's varsity wrestlers competed in the Teike/Bernabi Wrestling Tournament at Spencerport. Overall, the performance on day two was much better than day one, and the team finished 11th out of 21 teams.

Three wrestlers earned a spot on the podium. Ty Slaugenhoupt was second at 162 pounds, Sullivan Walsh was third at 172 pounds and Matt Werts was third at 184 pounds.

"All wrestlers displayed improvement against some of the toughest competition in NYS," St. Joe's coach Pete Kennedy said. "Our team is battle-tested for the important part of the season."
