BATAVIA — With low numbers, merged athletic programs are becoming the norm in Section V.
Unfortunately, one of those programs — Batavia/Attica wrestling might be forced to go solo again this season.
Just one season after they merged, defending sectional champion Batavia/Attica was told by the Section V Executive Committee last month that their recommendation to continue their merge would be denied this winter and sent on to the New York Public High School Athletic Association for further review, which was also denied initially by NYSPHSAA.
