BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo wrestler Colt Cotten was named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Cotten's week was highlighted by taking down a nationally-ranked wrestler.
Cotten, wrestling at 149 lbs., went 2-0 on Sunday in wins over Indiana and Indiana Tech. In the first match of the Indiana dual, Cotten earned a 4-1 decision over 20th-ranked Chris Perez. The Bulls went on to defeat Indiana for their first ever victory over the Hoosiers. Later that day, Cotten won by technical fall over Robert Humphrey, 16-0. The win sparked the Bulls' 19-16 victory over the Warriors.
