Cornell's Dean hammers Ohio State's Martin in featured bout between returning champions at 51st NWCA All-Star Classic

NEWS

Cleveland, Ohio -- The wrestling mat at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center presented a unique look. Sublimated to appear like a medieval pit fight, the mat hosted 20 of the nation's top Division I college wrestlers as they opened up their seasons by doing battle in a sport that dates back to ancient times.

What fans saw on Saturday night at the Wolstein Center at the 51st annual NWCA All-Star Classic presented by The Brewer-Garrett Company and hosted by the Wrestlers in Business Network was battle befitting the sport of modern-day warriors.

The only battle the night's highlight bout, though, would see would be an uphill one for Ohio State's Myles Martin. Two-time NCAA champion Gabe Dean of Cornell squashed any questions about who the favorite is at 184 pounds as he blew through 2016 174-pound champion Martin, earning a 13-4 major decision.
