ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

UNIONDALE - Three Hornell varsity wrestlers placed sixth or higher at the state
championships at the Nassau Coliseum Saturday.
Aaron Parks advanced to the semifinals of the 140-pound division, where he lost
to Derrick Brenon of Immaculate Heart (Sect. 3), 4-1. He bounced back to defeat
Hampton Bay's Dom Mutascio, 3-2 to take fifth place.
Andy Drake made it to the semifinals at 135, where he lost to Beaver River's
(Sect. 3) Shane Roggie, 4-3. Drake took sixth place after falling 2-1 to Greg
Conover of Section IV's Bainbridge-Gilford-Afton.
Dan Rosemier also took home a sixth-place finish after two losses in the
semifinals. He was defeated 10-5 in his semifinal match against Dan Randall of
Salem (Sect. 2). Section 10 Governor's Chris Fitzgerald pinned Rosemier at the
2:58 mark in the fifth/sixth-place match.
“It was great that they made it to the semifinals,” Hornell coach Matt Sheldon
said. “All three of them wrestled very tough matches. They were real close, a
couple of them were winning at one point.”
Sheldon said he has never had two wrestlers place at states in the same year.
“To have three of them is great,” he said. “I'm extremely proud of all three of
them.”
