ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

BATH — North Rose-Wolcott and Waterloo have developed quite a rivalry in the
Finger Lakes Central wrestling loop. Those schools have won the last three
league titles, with their regular-season meeting deciding the outcome each time.
They eyed the Section V Class BBBB wrestling tournament over the weekend as one
last chance to decide 2004-05 supremacy.
Just as they had during the regular season, the Cougars prevailed.
Mike Tellier and Mike Webster highlighted NR-W’s performance at Haverling High
School with championship showings. Webster was impressive in the 171-pound
final, pinning Hornell’s Dan Rosemeier in the second period. Tellier took the
119-pound crown — he was the 103-pound champion last year — with a 5-2 decision
over Dansville’s Justin Walker.
The Cougars finished with 135 points, good for fifth place in the 13-team field.
Hornell won the team title with 202 points.
Finger Lakes East member Palmyra-Macedon topped area schools with 1371/2 points,
just ahead of NR-W in fourth. Waterloo wound up sixth with 101 points, followed
in the rundown by fellow FL Central schools Mynderse (961/2) and Midlakes
(901/2).
Waterloo’s Josh Mateo earned a sectional patch for the second straight season,
outpointing Wayland-Cohocton’s Nick Sikes 8-5 in the 140-pound final.
Penn Yan’s Kyle Heitmann won the unlimited division, copping a 7-5 win over
Midlakes counterpart Chris Teed.
For the second consecutive winter, Pal-Mac boasted three champions. Dan Rudy,
named the tournament’s outstanding heavyweight, became a two-time sectional
champion when he decisioned Haverling’s Tony Viselli 2-1 in the 160-pound final.
Teammates Sean Walton (112) and Mike Ciaburri (145) each won more comfortable
decisions.
Waterloo’s Dean Lemmon, NR-W’s Matt LaValley, Pal-Mac’s Alex Ekstrom and
Midlakes’ Morgan Hoven and Enan Congdon joined Teed as runners-up. Hoven dropped
a 9-8 heartbreaker to 135-pound winner Aaron Parks of Hornell.
NR-W’s Josh Bielemeier and Sean Wahl, Waterloo’s Bryant Tumbelekis and Dave
Everett, Mynderse Academy’s Randy Dove and Robert O’Connor and Pal-Mac’s Jeff
Witt earned thirds. Chris Stobie and Adam Biesenbach of Midlakes, Chris D’Amato
and Alvin Chen of Mynderse, Cody Williams of Pal-Mac and D.T. Benedict of Penn
Yan wound up fourth.
