ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Four champs for Genesee Valley

The Time Herald, Olean, NY
Sunday, January 9, 2005

Hammondsport — Genesee Valley won 22 of 27 matches, including 21 by pin, en route to placing four champions at the Hammondsport Tournament.

Dan McGillivray (130) won his weight class and was voted the tournament’s most outstanding wrestler.

In five matches, Chris Waite (171) scored five wins to claim first place in his weight class.
Caleb Olcott (145) and Chad McCaslin (275) also earned first-place finishes for the Jaguars.
“There really wasn’t any individual that didn’t have a good tournament,” Genesee Valley coach Matt Hopkins said.

Jeff Robbins (125) earned a second place for GV, while Cuba-Rushford’s Lance Pecone (152), who wrestles with the Genesee Valley team, placed second.

No team scores were kept.

Kyle Ackerman (96) and Nick Clark (215) earned first place finishes for Fillmore.
Matt Sturtevant (189) placed third.

“We were a little bit sluggish today, but it’s a good judge of where we are right now and that we’ve got some work to do,” Fillmore coach Mike Witkowski said. “For the guys who placed first, it’s a testimony to their hard work.”
