articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Addison takes down J-T

ADDISON | The Knights dominated the
middle weight classes to grab a lead, then got two key pins from its
lightest wrestlers to nail down a 48-33 win over SCL rival Jasper-Troupsburg
Thursday.
After falling behind 15-9 following a pin by the Wildcats' David
Lubberts at 140 pounds, Addison's
Michael Thompson (145) and Mark
Hovey (152) recorded first-period pins.
Hovey's was the fastest of the evening, coming in a blazing nine seconds
over Nevin Krause.
The Knights' Jeff Cox (160) and
Cory Spencer (171) then added
decisions to boost Addison (7-3, 4-1) to a 30-15 advantage.
"The meat of our order really came through for us," said Addison head
coach Frank Bielski. "Cory Spencer
wrestled a tough kid. His match could have gone either way, but in the
matches we needed to win - we got them."
J-T (6-2, 4-1) rallied with a Chad Howell
pin at 189 and a forfeit at 215 to cut the margin to 30-27.
But Loren Hively scored Addison's
third pin of the match in 38 seconds over Phillip DeVore
in the heavyweight division.
Addison's lead was nine points as the match moved to the lightweights.
In his first varsity match, Addison seventh-grader Chris Dean
pinned Derek Noser in 5:03. The
Knights' Mandi Herrington (112)
made the score 48-27 with Addison's third consecutive pin. She defeated
Justin Robinson in 1:24.
The Wildcats' Mark Guinup closed
the match with a pin of Mike Kahobka
(2:29).
In the opening matches, Addison's Mike Hargrave
(119) earned a decision, while teammate Brett Hale
(130) won via forfeit.
J-T's Jeremy Newell (125) and
Joe Lubberts (135) picked up
decisions early in the match.
"Both teams wrestled well," said J-T head coach Mike Davis. "We knew it
would be tight. We just got out-wrestled in the two matches we needed to
win.".
