E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

A Strong Leadership
All County Status for 4 Wrestlers

With such a young squad this year, no one knew what to expect from Batavia's wrestlers. There were only four returning seniors and they were Steve Green, Mike Alley, Brent Dioguardi, and Scott Woodward. The varsity squad did their best but ended up with a 6-7-1 record. Thanks to the strong leadership of Coach Palmerton, Batavia finished a close second in the Batavia Christmas Tourney. Four wrestlers earned All-County status: Brad Dioguardi, Brent Dioguardi, Charlie Lesh, and Buddy Cabrera. Two wrestlers placed in Class B sectionals: Brent Dioguardi and Paul Conibear.

Brent Dioguardi raised his school record in a single season to one hundred wins.*

The J.V. squad posted one of the best records in recent years with a 9-4-1 record. Jason Armstrong became only Batavia's second J.V. county champ. Marty Stevens placed second, and Dereck Washington and Steve Ball placed third. - Written by Mr. Palmerton & Todd Crosett (Batavia yearbook, 1989)

* ARMDRAG NOTE: To have 100 wins in one season was impossible in 1989.  The number of wins mentioned likely refers to Dioguardi's career record.
