Wrestlers Struggle

Like so many other Arcadia teams this season, the Titan Varsity Wrestling Team was plagued by injuries and never got untracked. The team was dealt its severest blow early in the season when senior Brian Needler had to undergo surgery and was lost for the year.

Seniors Mike Palumbo, Paul Brigandi, and Mike Fitzgibbon led the hard-working, spirited squad, but they were unable to overcome the obstacles confronting them.

A strong contigent of underclassmen, especially in the lower weight classes, improved through the season and give Coach Paul Meges confidence that Arcadia will return to the ranks of county wrestling powers in the near future. (Arcadia yearbook, 1977)
