articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Retaining its position as a county power, the IHS wrestling team placed second
in the Western Division with a 6-2 record. Attributing success to the skillful
training of Coach Art Connorton, the squad placed fourth in the County
Tournament and four members John Olesiuk, 106 lbs.; Lance Whipple, 136 lbs.;
Gary St. James, 141 lbs.; and Paul Menges, 148 lbs., became All-County team
members. Deserving special attention are County Champions John Olesiuk, with a
58-2 overall record and Lance Whipple, 63-4, who was nominated for High School
All-American. All members of the squad merit the praise, recognition and
optimistic support of the student body for the year's triumphs. (Neodaondaquat,

The JV Wrestling team, under the patient coaching of Mr. Ken Slater, began to
master the necessary skills essential to IHS's tradition of first class
wrestling. Irondequoit can confidently look forward to a fine showing on the
mats next season when the team's potential becomes the strength of Varsity
Wrestling. (Neodaondaquat, 1967)
