ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

St. Mary's High
School of Lancaster won the first Catholic Wrestling Tournament at
Bishop Kearney High School last night with 97 points.
The host team was
second with 87 points and McQuaid was third with 60 points. Notre Dame
of Batavia had 30 points, Notre Dame of Elmira, 15 and Bishop Walsh of
Olean, 10.
Voted the
tournament's outstanding wrestler was sophomore Dan Oberst
of Bishop Kearney who performed in the 130-pound class.
Several upsets
were registered, officials said, and perhaps the most noteworthy was a
victory by 141-pound Larry Hamilton
of Elmira school who pinned Lou Schmitt
of St. Mary's in 5:57. Schmitt was top-seeded. Dick O'Connor,
Batavia, and Tom Ciaccio, Kearney,
reversed earlier losses this season with their same opponents.
