LIVONIA ― Seven of
12 titles taken by Dansville in the Livingston County Wrestling
Tournament at Livonia displayed the strength Dansville has had all year
in league competition.
The Dansville
Mustangs took the county championships in the 95-pound class with
Bruce Kenney, 103 with Louis
Comardo, 120 with Jim Brokaw,
127 with Ron Weidman, 154 with
Larry Barber and unlimited with
James Redman.
Livonia, runnerup
to Dansville, finished with four champions as follows: Mike
Vallone at 112, Reed Lemon at 138,
Greg Masterson at 165 and Chuck
Pease at 180.
Pat Genova of Mr.
Morris battled a strong Bill Hettrick
of Dansville to take the title in the 133-pound class and finish the
season with an unbeaten record.
Nunda placed two
in the finals, Caledonia two and Geneseo one but all failed to win
titles.
The Livingston
County champions will meet the Monroe County champions in the Section 5
quarterfinals at Dansville starting Tuesday, February 26, at 7 p.m.
