E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

New Coach Leads Grapplers to 6-4-1 Season

Under new coach Charles Adams, the Northside wrestlers posted a successful 6-4-1 campaign. According to Coach Adams, the two outstanding matches were the close loss to CFA, the closest any team had come to beating them in two years, and the 24-18 victory over Horseheads, the team that finally broke Academy's 37 match winning streak.

Doug Hoover, co-captain, took first place* in his weight class at the Alfred Tournament and Gene Fuller and Scott Stever captured third places. In the League Tournament at Bath, Hoover again placed first, and Sam Sagaria took a second place. Hoover, Sagaria, Mike Watson, and Chuck Reynolds captured first in their divisions at the section quarter-finals in Hornell but, unfortunately, none of them became sectional champions. (North Star, 1963)

* ARMDRAG NOTE: According to the tournament results from the Corning Leader, Hoover took second at the Hornell Tournament held at Alfred Tech.
