This year the matmen of John Marshall ran into stiff competition, finishing the season with a 1 win 7 loss record defeating only our rival at the lake - Charlotte. Coach Almsberger, however, considers the season a success in many ways. The team, led by three Seniors - Ken Mundt, Ed Magrudar, and Bob Wheeler, was made up largely of freshmen. This will leave the team with a good foundation for the next three years.

Two of the outstanding freshmen on the team were Mike Cavallaro and Tony Cotsworth. Marshallites should keep an eye on these up and coming athletes.

Also there was a wrestling tournament in which over 200 boys participated for the trophy in each weight class. The team is looking forward to welcoming these winners or anyone else who is interested in a wholesome sport. (John Quill, 1962)
