ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

JV Rangers

The 1958-59 season was the culmination of the efforts of four years of hard work for many members of the Spencerport wrestling team. With six seniors holding varsity positions, there was a determination in the air that this was to be a good year. The attitude of determination and long hours of grueling practice resulted in the team's 13 win and 1 loss record. An undefeated season was prevented by a heartbreaking 23-18 loss to Geneva, where one individual match of twelve made the difference.

In the Central Western Conference, Spencerport placed second this year in a field of 10 teams with a 7 win and 1 loss record. Geneva again this year took the crown with an undefeated record.

Outstanding individual efforts helped to make the season what it was. Both Gene Dini and Doug Drake went through the regular season without a single defeated and a final record of 14 wins and no losses. A number of other grapplers closed the season with only one or two defeats. (Panorama, 1959)
