ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Although the 1953 Wrestling team
suffered losses from illness and ineligibility, it finished the
season with a high rating in the city and sectional tournaments. The
climax of the year was the crowning of our own Tommy Nacca as city
and sectional champion in the 145 pound class. He was undefeated in
seven league matches and in five tournament matches. May his example
be an inspiration to all succeeding wrestlers. (The Statesman,

ARMDRAG NOTE: The write-up and photos appear in the 1954
Jefferson yearbook. The write-up talks of the 1953 team, so it's
assumed that the photos are also from 1953. It's possible, however,
that the photos are actually from 1954, especially since sectional
champ Tom Nacca isn't (apparently) pictured. If you know the truth,
please contact armdrag.
