E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Jefferson High's matsters captures the major share of honors in the annual city high school wrestling championships at Marshall High last night, winning 4 of 12 titles.

A surprisingly strong representation from Franklin copped three togas, while Charlotte's championship club, unbeaten in league meets during the season, won two crowns.

One of Charlotte's title-winning performers was George Newland, the only repeat champ on last night's card. The muscular Newland, who scored seven fall victories during the recent campaign without tasting defeat, tossed game Gary Barron of West for his second straight 175-pound championship. Tony Silipini, who had a fine record for Madison during the regular season, could not defend his heavyweight championship because of illness.

There was only one casualty on the card. Ange Gangemi received a broken right arm in his battle with Joe Frate of Jefferson in the 165-pound class. The East High pupil was removed to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The Winter Sports Carnival of Section 5 got under way earlier in the day with wrestling preliminaries in Class B. The indoor sports classic will continue today with wrestling, badminton, table tennis, volleyball and gymnastics at Marshall and bowling at Buonomo Hall. Here are today's events:
