E-mail corrections or additions to info@armdrag.com.

ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

Wrestling highlighted action in the annual Section V Winter Indoor Sports Carnival at Marshall High yesterday.

A pair of Edison Tech grapplers, Paul Thomann and Ed Goodberlet, along with Tony Cantatore of Madison and Dom DiPonzio of Jeff, brought four sectional wrestling crowns to Rochester by defeating a quartet of challengers from Geneva.

Thomann and Goodberlet were the outstanding matmen. Thomann completed his second straight year of schoolboy wrestling without a defeat, while Goodberlet pinned his third opponent in four starts during the tournament.

In the table tennis department, Gene Coghill of Monroe brought Rochester another championship, downing Sam Sardinia of Perry High, 21-7, 21-13, 21-18, in the final. John Bailey and Ed De Wandell of Newark captured the doubles toga.

Individual award in gymnastics went to Rudy Aceto of Franklin High with a score of 28. Franklin also copped the gymnastic team awards.

Bowling, the only event which was not held at Marshall, had several bright spots.

Rolling at Ridge Hall under the direction of Harold Osborn, bowling chairman from Kendall High, Nick Morello of Geneseo blasted a 606 score to take top honors for singles. Morello climaxed games of 198 and 177 with a big 236 final game for his high total.
