ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.
We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and
articles as well. Many college and public libraries have microform copies
of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years. In them, you can find
lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time,
make a trip to the library and check it out. Ask a librarian how to get
started and how to print out the articles that you find.

The preliminary round of the annual high school
wrestling tournament will get under way to-morrow afternoon in the Tech High
gym. This tournament is held yearly to determine the individual champions of the
city in the respective classes.
Very little is known about the strength of the different teams, as the wrestling
league was disorganized, and no set schedule was adopted. This left the schools
to make out their own schedules, causing much confusion and a rather late start
in the season.
John Marshall and Monroe High schools did not even participate in a single
match, while Tech High took part in only one match, which it easily won. East
High has engaged in the most matches. The Orientals broke even with West High
and beat Charlotte.
In the past six years Tech High has turned out the best and most formidable
wrestling teams in the city, and usually copped most places in the tournaments.
East High, however, will make a strong bid for the individual honors this year.
Dentico and Polito, East High lads in the 105-pound class and in the 112-pound
class respectively, have shown fine form so far. Dentico won every bout that he
took part in, winning once by a decision and twice by falls. Polito has still a
more impressive record by throwing the three men that he met in two minutes or
less.
There will be very few titleholders back this season to defend their crowns.
Most of them have either left school, or have put on some excess weight, forcing
them to a heavier class.
The semi-finals of the tournament will be run off Tuesday in the Tech gym. The
finals will not take place until Friday.
