ArmDrag.com is looking for volunteers to help populate the Archives.  We're not only looking for results, but tournament brackets, photos, and articles as well.  Many college and public libraries have microform copies of complete newspapers dating back over 100 years.  In them, you can find lots of wrestling results. If you enjoy doing research, and you have some time, make a trip to the library and check it out.  Ask a librarian how to get started and how to print out the articles that you find.

As wrestling has become so popular among the athletes of the city the high school students have decided to take up this sort of amusement. Recently an elimination contest was staged at Charlotte High School at which time Friga, Holly and Tarrant outclassed the opponents in the different weights. The winners were presented with a gold watch fob with their name, school and the date of the match engraved on them. They also will receive a block "C."

The contest was finished but a short time when a challenge was accepted from the Rochester Shop School for a match to be staged at Charlotte High School this evening. Coach Carl G. Chamberlain has had considerable experience in this line of sport and has developed a fine wrestling team.

These are photos of an unmarked watch fob, probably not unlike the awards given to the Charlotte wrestlers as indicated in the above article. To anyone who stumbles across one of the engraved gold watch fobs mentioned in the article, please take a few digital photos of it and send them to armdrag to be posted.
